Take a 15 Minute Video Tour of North Beach in Corpus Christi, Texas
Happy Sunday!
While I was pinning on Pinterest a couple of days ago, I clicked on another users North Beach pin, and discovered that my YouTube video was being used as a point of reference on a certain beach website.
Dios mio! I totally thought that I had deleted this account from YouTube!
Well, I almost had a hard time getting back into this particular gmail account because I do not use it anymore-as it was created while experimenting with extending, and adding new services and ideas, to my senior care business.
Thankfully, I finally remembered my old password
I really appreciate the creators of that website, because they helped me gain over 5,000 YouTube views.
Now whether or not 5,000 views on YouTube sounds like a little or a lot to you, (it’s really not anything monetary wise) it is the lesson behind it that has got me thinking-I'm still a lifestyle blogger newbie, and I know that the Universe allowed me to stumble across my video again, for reasons that go way beyond, “just finding an old video post that I thought that I deleted”😬

Airplane Photography That Will Make You Want To Catch The Next Flight Out To Your Dream Destination
When I was just 8 years old, my mom booked me a flight from San Francisco, Ca, to San Antonio,Texas so that I could spend my whole summer vacation with my grandfather.
This was the very first time that I had ever been on a plane-but my mom knew my personality very, very well. I was a mature, spunky and independent 8 year old, who enjoyed my freedom, and was way more excited to travel by myself, than I was scared.
In addition to my mom giving me strict instructions and warnings, she continued to tell me over and over again, what to do in case of an emergency, and exactly what to do if I felt like I was in danger.
Because of my age of course, I was not totally alone, and without help-A lovely Stewardess was assigned to accompany me throughout my flights!
I remember my Stewardess introducing herself to me with this huge smile-and having to kneel all the way down to the floor to greet me because I was so tiny!
But before I allowed the Stewardess to take me away, I turned back around to get one last glimpse of my mom-I was also looking for some sort of special sign of approval from her. After eagerly watching my mother nod and smile, I felt this enormous surge of confidence within me. The Stewardess then gently took my hand, and lead me down the long jetway.
Once on the plane, I was seated next to a young boy, who looked to be about 15 or 16 years old. (He could of been younger, but this is how old he was in my 8 year old mind) I also remember that he kept me pretty entertained the whole flight, by showing me how he could flip his eyelids inside out!

Sweet Memories
These are just some of the sweet memories that began to fill my head, as I embarked on my very first international solo trip on October 6, 2021.
Before my trip to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, I had not been on a plane since my late 20's.
Feelings of excitement still take over me while the airplane speeds super fast on the runway, and then takes off up into the air. That has always been my favorite part of flying since day one! I love the rush! I also enjoy the light feeling of being suspended in the air, while on top of the clouds.

My parents raised me at a young age to be fearless and independent, and I know that it is because of them, that I am not afraid to try new things, or go into unfamiliar territories by myself. I thank my mom for “shipping me off” alone, and for giving me that unforgettable and amazing experience.

As time passed, we would regularly fly as a family from Northern to Southern California, Vegas, Louisiana, and Texas. Every year while in High School, I would go on to fly from California to Corpus Christi,Texas all by myself to visit my aunts and cousins.
In between the years, (and still as of today) I have been on many road trips, with and without others-but nothing of course is like traveling solo by plane.

6 Things You Should Know Before Visiting Corpus Christi, Texas
Boasting peaceful islands and family friendly beaches, Corpus is a place that will expel ones preconceived ideas of what Texas is, or should be like.
Having the ability to engulf you with tropical like weather, while calming you with its cool refreshing breeze, the sparkling city by the sea is the perfect little Texas Island, where one should go to escape, reboot, and retreat.
But before you take off and head toward this hidden gem, here are 6 things you should know before you visit.
6 Things You Should Know Before Visiting Corpus Christi, Texas
You Will Run Into Quite a Few Homeless People
Corpus has so many drug, alcohol, and homeless shelters and rehabilitation centers, that one would view it as a quiet place of restoration, for those with destructive behaviors and addictions.
But in spite of all of the numerous outreach facilities, there are still quite a bit of homeless people in and around the small City Island-especially in the downtown area. You may even find a few sleeping at night in hidden sections on the Marina, and at McGee beach. Homeless people in this area usually will not bother or harm you.
2. The Islanders are Extremely Friendly
Most Corpus Islanders are carefree and friendly. Many will quickly want to befriend you, strike up a conversation, and are more than willing to dish out pertinent information about the city- including relocation information, Corpus Christi wages, and where to go to find the best jobs.

How to Spend 24 Hours at The Marina in Corpus Christi, Texas
3. Hotel Prices are Highly Inflated During Spring Break
And I mean HIGHLY! Corpus is a popular destination for young Spring Breakers, (especially Padre Island) so if you are planning on visiting during this time, plan early, because this is when the islands make big preparations for the money to roll in!
Book Your Trip To Corpus Christi, Texas With Me At Tiffany Tene' Travels or contact me at tiffanytenetravels.globaltravel@gmail.com for travel agent advisor and concierge services.
4. The Ocean Waters are Not Crystal Clear Blue
Due to currents and sediments coming from other bodies of water that flow into Texas beaches, sometimes the ocean waters are brown, sometimes dark blue, sometimes dark green, and sometimes all three. With that being said, locals and tourists still love walking along the Corpus beaches, sunbathing, swimming, and playing in the ocean waters.
Note: The city of Corpus Christi does a great job at testing for water contamination, and informing Islanders and visitors about high tides-There are days where the water at some of the beaches in Corpus are not safe, so you will need to stay in tune with the local news. Swimming in or being near beach water that is not crystal clear blue grosses some people tf out-So if the ocean waters look too murky for you, just stay away.
5. Hit and Runs in Corpus Are Real!
Be very, very alert when walking or jogging anywhere in the city, and along the beaches. There are many drivers in Corpus who will not stop to give pedestrians the right of way, and act as if they could care less whether they hit you or not. Cuidado!
6. Corpus is Predominantly Hispanic
Just 2 1/2 hours away from the Mexican border-approximately 63.4% of people living in Corpus are Hispanic. There are also many Islanders who are mixed-African American, and Spanish descent.
When visiting Corpus, be ready to delve into an array of authentic Mexican food, along with a rich and flavorful Hispanic history and culture!

3 Cozy Sweater Wraps By LYSSE’ You Shouldn't Leave Home Without When Traveling to Africa and The Middle East
I was super excited that I finally got the chance to wear my wraps while in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania!
Because Dar is mostly made up of Christians, Muslims, and traditional Tanzanian cultural beliefs, wearing modest attire and wraps while going to markets, and while out and about exploring, (outside of the beach and nightlife) is highly encouraged.
I actually felt honored to dress like the locals!
Seeing The Massai Tribe wear their cultural attire in Tanzania, has inspired me to add more wraps to my wardrobe.
Here I go mixing it up again!
Though I love traditional cultural wraps, I also like to mix things up a bit. A little traditional culture here, and a little modern wear there, creates the perfect wardrobe for me.
3 Cozy Sweater Wraps By LYSSE’ You Shouldn't Leave Home Without When Traveling to Africa and The Middle East
Cozy and Chic
Look cozy and chic in this beautiful sweater wrap made of faux mink and cotton.
Picture yourself wearing this while making your way through LAX, Dallas Fort Worth or Chicago O’ Hare International airports, and then onto your overseas destination. Cozy enough for travel, while staying fashionably chic, this convertible wrap can be worn 3 different ways.
Classy and Sassy
Whether you are navigating through Hamad International Airport/ Mall, shopping at the Middle Eastern Souks, or off to the African markets, this cozy sweater wrap pattern is sure to make a huge fashion statement.
I also would wear this style while dining at fine African and Arabian cuisines, or at an international business meeting.
Casual Affairs
This cozy sweater wrap is perfect for your on the go casual affairs-such as visiting new found friends, lounging around your resort or hotel, riding the bus or train, or for a casual work environment.
Lysse Sweater Wraps Covering All The Bases
All three beautiful sweater wraps are made with hand-tied fringes, will keep you warm and comfy on the plane, and are long enough to fully cover all of the required areas for modesty, (arms, shoulders, breast, and legs) when in Tanzania and The Middle East.
If you happen to be like me, and are packing sleeveless dresses for your next trip to Africa or The Middle East, you will be ever so grateful that you did not leave home without these 3 new stylish wraps.

Flying With Qatar Airways
Before booking my flight to Tanzania, I had never explored what it would be like to fly with Qatar Airways. While looking for the best flight, I had several international airline options to choose from-but my eyes were automatically drawn to Qatar Airways. It was the burgundy color and company logo that immediately captured my attention, followed by the beautiful Arabic abjad writing. The middle east has a history of doing everything tasteful and with class when it comes to hospitality and accommodation, so I felt that I would be getting top service if I chose to fly with them.
First Things First
Covid
Before leaving the United States of America, you must show proof of a negative RT-PCR Covid test. This test must be taken 72 hours before arriving at your destination. I was able to get mine done quickly while in my Lyft ride at Any Lab Test Now for $199.00. My results were e-mailed to me within a couple of hours.
Upon checking in the US, during my 2-hour layover in Dallas, Texas, in Doha, Qatar, and upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania I was asked to present a negative RT-PCR test along with my passport.
Update: The rules for Covid vaccinations, tests, and health screenings for travel have changed since I wrote this post. Always check on the website of your destination country for rules and regulations.
*Because the line for presenting your information may be quite long, try to get to your gate asap and sit close to the airline attendants’ desk area. For organizational purposes, and to avoid holding up the line, have all of your documents in hand or within your reach.
Masks
Face masks are required for the whole duration of your flight with Qatar Airways, and while inside all airports.
Health Declaration Forms
Be sure to check to see if you need to download any health declaration forms that may be required at your final destination or by certain airline providers. You can find these forms on the Embassy website of your destination, and on the website of the airline that you are flying with. Qatar Airways does require a health declaration form whereby you can download on their website. However, I was not asked for it upon presenting my passport and covid test results.
I would still suggest that you go ahead and have it ready to present-Better to be safe than sorry.
Tanzania requires that you fill out and print their health declaration form 24 hours before arrival.
Tanzanian Document Requirements
Immediately upon arriving at the Tanzanian Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will be asked for your health declaration control number, (this number is located at the very top of the form) a negative RT- PCR test, and your passport. Afterward, you will be required to take a rapid antigen test. Rapid covid tests are provided at testing centers inside Julius Nyerere International Airport. You will be charged 10 US dollars which you can pay via cash, debit, or credit card.
*I paid cash with no problems. Just make sure that your bill is new and crisp.
If by chance you are presented with a positive result, you must stay at one of the select hotels (at your own expense) that Tanzania has designated for 14-day quarantines.
You will also need to take another RT-PCR test 96 hours before departing from Tanzania back to the US. This test requires that you make an online appointment, and as of now, in Kigamboni Dar es Salaam, will cost $50.00 USD. Test fees are to be paid online as well.
Be sure to frequently check document requirements and fees, because they may change. For example, Tanzanian RT-PCR tests went down from $100 to $50. They also changed the time frame where you would have to have your test before departure from 72 hours, to 96 hours.
Also, I would advise that you find out the location of the hospital or clinic where you will need to take your test ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly. This is one thing that I failed to do before I left the states, but luckily, my testing location was only 13 minutes away from the resort that I was staying at in Kigamboni.

Flying With Qatar Airways
Once you fly with Qatar Airways, you will want to remain a loyal customer for the rest of your flying days!
Seriously! I found myself wanting to invest in all of the perks and benefits that Qatar Airways has to offer.
While anxiously waiting at my gate to board, I looked up and was impressed to see the whole crew walking together so eloquently.
The men were looking handsome and the stewardess was ever so pretty all decked out from head to toe-Oh yeah, all of the stewardess’s makeup was on point too!
Qatar Airways cabin crew has 1960 old-school professionalism and mannerisms, that reminds me of some of the classic movies that I have watched.
From Dallas to Doha, Qatar
After greeting all Stewardess with ‘Marhaba’ which is hello in Arabic, (I was excited and proud to use the little Arabic words that I am learning) I was politely shown the way to my seat.
While slowly walking down the roomy aircraft aisle-enjoying and appreciating the soothing Arabic tunes, I was pleased to see how beautiful and inviting the burgundy craft interior really was.
*According to color psychology burgundy is associated with sophistication, higher class society, power, ambition, passion, relaxation, creativity, and beauty.
Economy Seats with First Class Service
The aisle seating and leg space were very spacious for economy. I took one look at the plush headrests, pillows, and blankets, and knew that I was going to have a very comfortable 15-hour flight.
On the way to Doha, I sat in the middle row aisle seat. There was a passenger sitting in the third seat, but no one in the middle seat. For all of my other flights with Qatar, I had a window seat with no other passengers sitting in the middle or end seats. This allowed me to raise the armrest, stretch out my legs, and use extra pillows and blankets to lounge and/or sleep.
Covid Safety and Protection Kits
Qatar Airways has a 5-star covid safety and protection rating!
One of the first things that the Stewardess hands out after everyone is settled in their seats is a safety protection kit.
Safety protection kits come with a mask, latex gloves, and hand sanitizer. The hand sanitizer smells really nice, and have natural oils in their ingredients!
Read-Qatar Airways Introduces Honeywell's Latest Ultraviolet Cabin Disinfection Technology
*You will be reminded by courteous Stewards and Stewardesses that you are to wear your mask during the whole entire flight.
Self Care Kits
Next, you will receive a care kit! Inside this kit is a pair of warm and cozy socks, a sleep mask, earplugs, toothbrush, toothpaste, and lip balm.
I still have a few items from the self-care and protection kits here with me at home!
Food
Qatar Airways does not skimp out when it comes down to making sure that passengers are well fed!
For a long 15 hour flight, we received full course meals, with beverages (and snacks in between) every 3 hours!
I mean, there was so much food that at times, I couldn’t even finish it all😋This is a good thing. I rather have more than less!
From mouth-watering Arabic cuisines to delicious vegan meals, I very much so looked forward to seeing that meal cart!
*You do have the option of choosing a couple of American dishes, but why would you?
Entertainment
After receiving your care kits, Stewardesses will pass out headphones so that you can utilize Qatar Airways innovative in-flight entertainment system.
There is a vast selection of movies in over 30 different languages!
Qatar Airways in-flight entertainment allows you to listen to music, play games, virtually explore Doha, press a button if you need anything, check on the status of a flight, find out the current location and altitude of the plane, and so much more.
Qatar Airways has 4,000 audio and entertainment options!

Restroom Facilities
You can rest assured knowing that whenever you need to use Qatar Airways restroom facilities, it will look and smell decent. Be sure to bring some Clorox wipes for added disinfection protection.
Also, after each full course meal, there was always an influx of passengers going in and out of the bathroom back to back…one.after.another. I never like to use it when this happens, neither do I use it right after all of the traffic has calmed down if I can help it. Try to plan your bathroom escapes accordingly. I personally took advantage of the airport restroom facilities as much as I could. Out of the 4 flights I took with Qatar Airways, I only used their bathroom facilities twice.
For extra long layovers, consider exploring Doha, Qatar!
Qatar Airways dominates the Business Class categories, winning the awards for the World's Best Business Class, World's Best Business Class Seat, World's Best Business Class Lounge, and World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering. The airline also received the award as the Best Airline in the Middle East.” SOURCE-Skytrax ratings
While flying with Qatar Airways, I received first-class luxury treatment from beginning to end. I will be planning my next trip with Qatar Airways soon with an upgraded experience!

My First International Solo Trip To Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
I just got back from Tanzania last night! My very first international solo trip. I still cannot get the images of the country and the faces of people that I met during my journey out of my head! Though my body is here in the states, my mind is still in Dar es Salaam.

One of the most important things you need to figure out is how will you be getting around Dar during your stay. I will be explaining in detail the different modes of transportation and costs.
7. Tanzania Currency
Another important thing that must be understood when traveling into another country is currency. I will be breaking down some Tanzanian prices and converting them to USD.

I think that it is very important that you visit both the rural and city sides of Tanzania so that you will have a full understanding and overall view of the country instead of half-truths. In this chapter, I will share my experience and thoughts of rural and downtown Dar es Salaam.
9. Tanzania Tribes People and Lifestyle
I was told by local Tanzanians that they have over 100 different tribes! I will be sharing my experiences with the locals, which by the way is the number one reason for my trip-not only to visit the country but meet and learn the ways of the people.
10. Tanzania Street Markets
I will describe the street markets I went to, and share tips, including do’s and don’ts when shopping. Also, I will show you how to board the Kigamboni Ferry.

Took a Little Summer Break in June and July
During the months of June and July, I took some time away from my Blog, Poshmark, and Pinterest so that I can get settled in, and explore my new living environment in Arkansas!
4 Things I Love About Maumelle, Arkansas
I have decided to make Arkansas my home base while preparing for International travel! I will be splitting my time between Little Rock, Maumelle, and Conway!
Just Touched Down in Maumelle!
Have you heard of Maumelle, Arkansas? Yeah, I hadn’t either! But everyone that I have met so far in and out of the city, has nothing but great things to say about this hidden gem!
Read:
10 Things I am Doing Right Now to Prepare for International Living
Maumelle
Situated approximately 2 miles from North Little Rock, Arkansas Maumelle is an upper-middle-class suburban city, with a small town metropolitan vibe.
Maumelle has a population of 18,000 and is still considered a young developing city on the rise.
Here are 4 Things I Love About Maumelle, Arkansas
1.
The Hills
I was raised in Northern California, so I love scenic hill and mountain views.
Maumelle is a hilly city, where almost everywhere you go, even while driving on the main road, you can enjoy being in on and around hills.
The place that I am currently staying at is literally on a hill. Leaving home, I love driving down the hill, coming home, I love driving up the hill!
2.
Trees Trails and Woods Galore!
I’m surrounded by a plethora of tall pine trees!
As you know, I am a huge nature lover. I was starting to feel a bit suffocated in Houston. Now I can truly breath in!…breathe out!..
Many times a Park, business, or house will be located right in the middle of a bunch of beautiful tall tress, and you won’t even know it!
It’s always fun to discover something hidden in the middle of the woods on a nature walk.
3.
Living Near a Lake
Living near Lake Valencia is a treat! Everyday, I can walk or jog around the lake, fish, lounge by the water, or just hang out on a bench taking in nature!
The library is also located directly in back of the Lake!
4.
Small City Life
Small city life means friendly respectful businesses, people, and environment, close-knit communities, better customer service, less pollution, no heavy traffic, lower crime rates, and less noise.

5 Things I Miss About Island Life in Corpus Christi, Texas
I still can’t believe that we were living in Corpus Christi, Texas just minutes away from the beach, for 5 years!
Now back in Houston, Texas the 4th largest metropolitan city in the US, there is always something to do.
Almost everything that you want or need, Houston has it!
Although there are many advantages to moving back to Houston, there are a few major amenities in Corpus that I really have been missing.
5 Things I Miss About Island Life in Corpus Christi, Texas
1. The Beach
I have been feeling like a mermaid out of water lately!
My favorite sport is swimming so I desperately miss going to the beach almost every day!…I desperately miss swimming in the ocean and laying in the sand daily. I have a nice view of the swimming pool in front of my home office window, but when you get used to swimming in the ocean, the chlorinated water in the pool doesn't seem too appealing anymore.
I miss taking my kids to the beach and watching them run in the sand without restrictions.
I miss meeting friendly Islanders- Some who have settled on the island because of the military, and some who said that they enjoyed vacationing there so much, that they winded up never going back home because of its chill lifestyle-one guy told us that he came to the island from Southern California for Spring Break, and never went back home!
I miss the sound of the waves crashing, seagulls swooping slow, and the luxury of strolling on the beach at midnight.

2. My Super Healthy Lifestyle
Since I been back in Houston, I have noticed a big drop in my healthy lifestyle. I do a whole lot of walking here, but the time that I spend outside compared to when I was living by the beach is way less.
Even though Houston has far more things to do than little Corpus Christi, I was definitely more physically active on the beach.
Physical Activity on the Beach
Right on the beach, I can do a variety of exercises. Run, jump, play frisbee, play catch, football, and volleyball all in the sand.
I also used to always challenge my older kids to a game of basketball-playing by a park around the corner from the beach.
Currently, my physical activities consist of walking and dancing.
While living in Corpus, I also spent way more time outdoors, because we lived in a beach like home where we had the whole property to ourselves.
Weather
The weather in Corpus Christi is very warm, but because the city lies on the gulf coast, there is always a refreshing breeze!
Food
I used to order Indian food from India online every other week at ishopindian.com. Sad to say that I haven’t ordered anything from them in almost 2 1/2 years! Also in Corpus Christi, there is a fruit and vegetable store called Fruit King. Omg! You can buy 2-3 big cardboard boxes full of fresh fruit and veggies for $25.00. (I haven’t shopped here since Corpus.) ishopindian.com
Currently, my diet consists of more American, Nigerian and Jamaican food, which I love, and am not complaining about at all!
Hair
I used to give myself natural hair masks and hot oil treatments every week. Now I only do them once a month, or once every 3 months.
3. Extended Family
I do not have any close family members here in Houston. I sort of miss being able to drive around and pop in on my extended family, just to say hi, pick up a dinner plate that they insist on me eating, get some good laughs in from my aunties wild jokes, and going over there for birthdays and other family get-togethers.
4. The News Channel
Seriously, when we first started watching the news, we were like, “Yesss!” …In Corpus Christi, Texas there are very few cases of murder, theft, or domestic abuse. The big thing that you had to watch out for was hit and runs. 6 Things You Shoud Know Before Visitng Corpus Chrisit, Texas
To watch TV, with very little bad news was so refreshing. Here in Houston, Texas I only watch the news if I have to, because every day there is drama, a murder somewhere, break-ins, and whatever other major or minor crimes you can think of! Sorry, Houston, I do love you, and for the most part, I have always felt at home and safe here. But to live in a place where local news broadcasts are short, and the rest of the news hour is spent talking about other things that are going on outside of your city, is heaven.

5. Slow Pace Living
I love the hustle and bustle of the big city! But it wasn't until I moved to Corpus that I realized that yes, I consider myself a big city girl, but I should separate my big city girl lifestyle from home.

Staying at Holiday Inn Sugar Land, Texas
Ahhhh! Rainy days and stormy nights, every lil thing gonna be alright!
Well, that's how I felt during my stay at the Holiday Inn Sugar Land, Texas.
Have you ever heard of Sugar Land?
Nestled 25 minutes outside of Houston, Texas Sugar Land is an upper-middle-class suburb filled with sugar and spice and everything nice.
Literally!
In 1843, Imperial Sugar was first discovered in this now flourishing city.

Rated the #2 best place to live within the surrounding areas of Houston, stability will be waiting to greet you upon arrival!
Here in Sugar Land, you will find nothing but the best in everything! The best schools, family and waterfront homes, communities, customer service, atmosphere, law enforcement, and restaurants.

Staying at Holiday Inn Sugar Land, Texas
Holiday Inn used to be my number one place to book for frequent stays while traveling through Arkansas-Holiday Inn Express to be exact! Like Extended Stay America, they have always provided excellent customer service.
I arrived on a stormy Friday evening… I mean, it-was-pouring-dowwwn!
But it’s always nice to have a refreshing cold breeze from the rain after long hot summers in Houston.
In the parking lot looking for a spot, valet services are outside in front of the hotel waiting to guide you to your free parking space and help you with your luggage if needed.
Spacious Front Lobby Interior Decor
The front desk is equipped with plexiglass and courteous contactless check-in service.
Everyone in the lobby wore masks and kept their distance for the most part.
If you are super sensitive when it comes to social distancing, you can always take the stairs up to your room instead of the elevator.
Hotel Room
Hotel Art and Colors
I loved the art and vibrant colors inside the hotel! It's the same colors as our family room, so I instantly felt at home.
Also, I got an aha moment-Never thought about trying to sell my photography art to small or large hotel chains, cottages, or bed and breakfasts.
Enjoying the Rain and View From The 6th Floor
As the night grew cooler, I switched the air conditioner from cold to warm. My room temperature instantly became extra cozy, perfect for a stormy day and night!

New All Natural Watermelon Lemon Hand Care Sanitizer Mist You'll Fall In Love With
Nowadays, you will see a lot of everyday people dressing like medical workers to protect themselves against viruses! Masks, gloves, and even protective shields are all a part of the new daily gear/wardrobe.
From day one for medical workers, it has been, and will always be about following the rules to avoid cross-contamination and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
The most important thing that health officials keep emphasizing is the importance of handwashing.
When you're in the medical field like me, you have to keep hand sanitizer around at all times! We are known to have hand sanitizer in our pockets, purses, pouches, bathrooms, storage rooms, nurses stations, and yes.., in the trunk of our cars and glove compartments!
We are also taught that hand sanitizer should not replace proper and regular handwashing with soap and water-But if soap and water are not available, a hand sanitizer is an excellent option.
(Childcare workers also have strict regulations when it comes to hand sanitation. They are required to make sure that each child that is of age, knows how to properly wash their hands.)
The spread of germs in daycare centers is real!
With that being said, the type of hand sanitizer you use after proper handwashing is very important.
Recently, the FDA issued a re-call of certain hand sanitizers known to contain unsafe ingredients, low levels of ethyl and isopropyl alcohol, and methanol contamination-methanol is a type of alcohol that is toxic when applied to your hands, and dangerous when ingested.
New Purlisse All Natural Watermelon Lemon Antiseptic Hand Sanitizer You’ll Fall In Love With
Being the naturalist that I am, I have tried a few hand sanitizers in the past, claiming that they were all-natural. Some of those hand sanitizers smelled really good but still left my hands feeling a bit sticky and dry.
Eventually, I ended up just using rubbing alcohol.
Usually, I will carry a travel size bottle of lotion to use after sanitizing my hands. But now I don't need to!
I've been using purlisse hand sanitizer for almost 2 weeks, and I am very impressed!
There are 3 scented purlisse antiseptic handcare sanitizers-Green Tea Ginger, Watermelon Lemon, and Papaya Turmeric.
I chose Watermelon Lemon, and will soon be purchasing all three scents!
To use, spray sanitizer so that all areas of your hands are covered, (usually 3 or 4 spritzes) then rub hands together-front and back, until dry.
Your hands will remain soft and feel moisturized no matter how many times you use purlisse hand sanitizer!
Key ingredients include tea tree oil, aloe vera leaf juice, and lemon essential oil. I was happy to see hydrogen peroxide which is a major bacteria killer, melaleuca oil, and lemon peel oil in the ingredients as well.
These are the perfect natural ingredient combinations that will surely kill (and not just mask) germs and harmful bacteria!
Also, the smell is amazeballs! It has a nice sweet light watermelon scent that's not overwhelming.
Another great thing about purlisse antiseptic hand care is that you can spritz a little on your bedding, pillows, and other areas that you want clean!
This seriously will be my new go-to hand sanitizer!
Have you tried the new scented antiseptic hand care sanitizers from purlisse?
3 Reasons To Shop Out of Season-Resort Wear Tropical and Florals During The Winter
As a fashion reseller, I sell clothes in and out of season. I have sourced winter items, that sold in the summer, and swimwear, that sold smack dab in the middle of winter.
There are many advantages to purchasing your clothes out of season!
3 Reasons To Shop Out of Season
You can almost always get out of season items at rock bottom prices
Retailers need to hurry up and sale out of season items so that they can make room for new inventory.
To move merchandise quickly, they will drop their prices extremely low at the end of every season.
If you are trying to save money by cutting back on your expenses, or if you are on the lookout for the best bargains, don't shop in season, shop out of season.
2. You will stay ahead of the game and super organized like a fashion designer
The fashion industry is always a season or two ahead of us. Right now, top designers are already displaying their spring collection, and soon will be rolling out their summer collections. During summer, while most of us are out swimsuit shopping, the fashion industry will be presenting their fall collection to the world. Let’s become the ultimate planners of our “wardrobe life”, by thinking ahead like a fashion designer.
3. If you're a rebel, and like to stand out just to break the fashion rules, you can go against the grain this Winter by wearing florals and bright colors rather than dark and neutral shades
Why wear the same colors as everyone else? I like burnt orange, tan, and brown, but a fall and winter wardrobe full of color is so refreshing!
Red and green are the normal Christmas colors anyway. We can add that same flair to our Winter wear.
Add some flair to your Winter wear!
(Also, wearing more colorful outfits just may cure your winter blues!)
If you are planning a trip for spring break or a summer vacay, why not shop for the occasion now?
Whether you are looking to save money by purchasing items at a discounted price, want to organize your closet a couple of seasons ahead, planning a trip to a warmer climate during the winter, or like breaking fashion rules, here are some tropical outfits you can wear during the winter.
PS: Don't forget to throw on a super stylish coat!

Atlas Coffee Review-I Took A Virtual Trip To Brazil and Transformed My Daily Coffee Routine Into A Fun Adventure
I am currently sitting blissfully outside of a popular coffee shop in Rio de Janeiro, admiring the beautiful city, enjoying the Portuguese language, and soaking up the rich Brazilian culture.
After another slow and mellow hour has passed, I’m eager to scout things out and mingle with the locals!
With the smell of coffee still lingering in the air and on my clothes, I decide to walk the streets of Brazil.
Immediately swept away by the sounds of Brazilian music, I fall into a trance, watching all of the colorful skirts whirling around in the streets. Exotic Brazilian women are cheerfully laughing-happily dancing with their partners!
Sensing my excitement, and interest, they beckon me to come and join them.
Mingling with the locals bring me joy!
Hesitant to leave, but realizing that I have much more to discover, I graciously thanked all of the dancers for an unforgettable time, gave goodbye hugs, and politely make my way down an unknown street.
Navigating around the city, I encounter friendly Brazilians who are more than willing to go above and beyond to accommodate me.
After spending some time exploring, I find my way back to the coffee shop!
Travel Brazil
Upon ordering another cup of coffee with pastel, I meet some Expats who are from the States. Coffee Connoisseurs, (Or shall I say, conocedor?) who have traveled around the world, tending the best coffee!
Here in Brazil, the two Coffee Connoisseurs have found a particular type of coffee that has never been introduced to the USA.
This definitely piqued my interest, as I am a coffee addict!
After exchanging information, and addresses, the Coffee Connoisseurs promise to send me a package of this new Brazilian coffee to experience.
I Can’t wait!
I am now being transported back to the States🧘🏽♀️
While en route, my new coffee travel experts are with me every step of the way!
My Brazilian Coffee Has Arrived!
I received my Brazilian coffee in lightning fast time, from Atlas Coffee Club.
The smell of this coffee is intoxicating! OMG!
Even my 7 and 11-year-old boys ran in the kitchen!“Mommy, what's that smell?”
“Doesn't it smell good?”I asked. “Yes!” They said lingering around excitedly as if they were going to actually get to taste a cup of coffee.
Side Note: I make Colombian coffee all of the time. I also am always trying out all sorts of new coffee-so that just goes to show that there is a very distinct difference in this Brazilian coffee!

My Brazilian Post Card
How I Brew
While living on the Islands in Corpus Christi, Texas, I tossed my coffee pot out after trying the drip method for the first time.
When using the drip method, the taste of coffee is definitely by far wayyyy more authentic and fresh!
The special coffee card, (which is included in my package) says that the best way to brew this particular Brazilian coffee is by using a Chemex.
If you are new to the coffee scene, a Chemex is a manual pour-over style glass coffee maker. It is basically the same brewing method as to how I brew, but with clear glass.
After slowly pouring 1 cup of hot water into 2 coffee filters filled with 2 tablesoons of ground coffee, I carefully gather and hold the top four corners of the filter with my finger tips. (I use 2 coffee filters together, stacked on top of each other, for extra support.) Raising the coffee filter 7-8 inches from the bottom of the cup, I allow the coffee to drip inside of my cup. In doing this, you must take your time, and be extra careful because the filter is extremely hot. You can either let the hot water sit in the filter for a short bit, or just stick with the chemex if you are extra sensitive to heat.
Also, you can transfer your freshly made drip coffee into another cup if you like.
Drinking From The Perfect Color Coffee Cup
Have you heard the saying that the color of your coffee cup makes a difference in the way it taste?
Well, I have tried that theory, and found it to be true!
I wanted to get the best taste out of my new Brazilian coffee, so everyday this week, I've been drinking from a variety of coffee and glass cups.
Medium Roast
I am a dark roast girl but decided to try medium roast.
I usually need a strong bold robust cup of coffee with just a little sugar, milk, or creamer…Sometimes I prefer my coffee with no milk at all.
The Taste of Brazilian Coffee
This was my very first time tasting Brazilian coffee!
The flavor is light and soft with sweet fruity notes. I must say that out of all of the coffee that I have ever tried, none has ever been this naturally sweet! You really don’t need to add that much milk or sugar-Being that this Brazilian coffee is so light, you may prefer it straight.
In experimenting with the taste that suits me the best, I scooped out 1 1/4 tablespoons of sugar.
When drinking in mugs, I enjoyed my Brazilian coffee the best warm or cold brew, versus scorching hot like I am used to.
Currently, I am having the best hot Brazilian coffee taste while drinking from a small espresso cup!
Surprisingly, these cute espresso cups are providing me with the ultimate Brazilian coffee experience so far!
Because Brazilian coffee is naturally soft and sweet, you can enjoy drinking it throughout the day! It also serves as a good nightcap.
