How To Easily Make Fresh Homemade Ginger Tea
Uh-oh Coffee! Here Comes Tea!
I just finished drinking the most delicious cup of hot and spicy, Ginger Tea!
It was sooo good, that it may even replace my daily coffee routine!….Wait, replace my daily coffee routine? Um, no, I don’t think so.
This week, I am alternating between Coffee and Ginger Tea!
I used to be a bit of a Ginger Tea drinker on the Islands in Nueces Bay-but I don't remember me loving it to the extent of wanting to drink it several times a day.
Are my taste buds changing?🤔
Health Benefits of Ginger Tea
Ginger Tea is known to strengthen the immune system, rid morning and motion sickness/nausea, help with digestion, fight infections, reduce muscle pain, prevent and combat cancer, and reduce coughs and colds-Also known to improve mental clarity, and help with oral hygiene!
The spicy aromatic smell of Ginger alone, can be used for aromatherapy. (I can never stop smelling my hands after cutting fresh Ginger Root.)
TIP: To clear congestion, nasal passages, and to reduce chronic cough, put your face slightly over the pot, and inhale the steam while your tea is boiling.

Here’s How to Easily Make Fresh Homemade Ginger Tea!
Rinse and cut off a portion of Ginger Root
2. Cut the peel of your Ginger Root with a sharp knife, or scrape off peel with a peeler scraper
(Non-affiliate Amazon link.)
*Alternatively, you can place the Ginger Peels, and chopped Ginger together in the pot, or you can chop Ginger Root, without removing the peel.
3. Chop Ginger into small pieces
You can chop yours in tiny pieces, or into thin round slices.
4. Place Ginger in pot or pan, and pour just enough water to cover the Ginger pieces-bring to a boil (I use this method.)
Or, you can place small Ginger pieces in 2-3 cups of boiling water.
-Add more water, if you intend on making more than 1 cup, or to lessen the strength of the tea.
-Bring to a boil for 15-20 minutes.
TIPS: For a less pungent taste, boil for 5 minutes, and simmer for 10 minutes.
For a nice strong robust punch, low boil for 25-30 minutes-or longer.
The longer the boil, the stronger the tea!
5. Pour your homemade Ginger Tea into your favorite tea cup, and enjoy!
I like mine as is, but you can add lemon, lime, honey, or cinnamon sticks to taste if desired.
After taking your first couple sips of Ginger Tea in the morning, you will already feel super energized, and ready to dive into your day!
If you keep your Ginger Tea on your desk, and sip throughout the day, you may find that you enjoy the taste even more, at a cooler temperature.
I enjoy my Ginger Tea Piping Hot and Spicy!
We all have different portion tolerances when it comes to herbal teas, and spices.
As for me, I experience the best results with Ginger Tea, one sip at a time.
I have also found that my body tolerates Ginger Tea better, when consumed alone, and after my meals.
Upon one short sip, I wait for the strong spice to hit the base of my throat. (I like this feeling!) I then experience this rush of refreshness, while the Ginger Tea splashes through the rest of my system.
I repeat my short and savory sipping process every 2-4 minutes, until I have finished my cup of Ginger Tea.
As I stated earlier, just one punch of Ginger Tea will awaken you!
