All I Wanna do is Drink Tea and Watch TV-Lazy Days and Rejuvenation
Must I always be contemplating, planning, figuring, calculating, and strategizing??
Even though I homeschool and work online, I find myself -my brain, reverting back to the way it used to think when I was working, and doing business outside of the home.
Now sometimes this is necessary, but Tiffany, (yes, I talk to myself) not all of the time!
I used to work night shifts and on-call while in the medical field. I now firmly believe that after doing so for over 10 years, my mind and my body still thinks that I need to be ON-CALL-AT- ALLLL- TIMES!
Slow Mornings
Slow mornings allow me to meditate, carefully set the tone for my day, eat a full breakfast, and sip my coffee and tea… Very Slowly!
When I first started building businesses from home, I tried to get up at 5am, or 6am, knowing good and well that I am a night owl, and not an early bird.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have never been a morning person, and that’s okay! Everyone is different!
My 11 year old is an early bird. I just leave him alone, and let him do his early morning things.
Getting up extra early?….uhhhhh…, yeah-it’s a no for me!
Slow mornings works best for my personality and lifestyle.
I am way more productive and happier, when I go about my mornings in this matter.
I will wake up early, but as far as actually getting up, I often let my body decide, unless I have an early Client, or need to finish an important assignment.
There are also some nights where I say, “Tomorrow, I am going to take care of all of my outside business early, so that I don't have to worry about going out in the middle of the day.”
I love working from home, and working from anywhere, because I can plan my days and hours to match the natural flow of my body..and moods!
Speaking of moods, have you learned how to tackle certain assignments, and tasks, by working with your bodies natural cycle?
It almost reminds me of how the moon goes through it's different phases.
I have learned how to work with my bodies natural cycle, (the one that comes every 28 days) and am learning when my mind, body, and spirit is at it's most high, and when they are at their most low.
I am learning which days and weeks I need to really push, travel, and do an all nighter, and which days and weeks I need to just sit down somewhere, relax, and chill.
This is important, because we are human, but act like robots! Our energy levels cannot be on 100 percent 24/7.
All I wanna do is drink tea and watch tv- Hulu!
Especially on those transitioning days- before and during my menstrual cycle…
Note: Btw, did you know that South Korea, Tawain, Indonesia, and Zambia allow for their female employees to be off with pay for 1-3 days during their monthly cycle? It's called menstrual leave.
They did a study and found that female workers were less productive at work during their cycle-
So they said, yeah, your not getting much work done during this time, just come back to work when you stop bleeding! (Just kidding.)
Me: “See, I told you mom that I needed a couple of days off while in high school during that time of the month!”
I rarely take breaks during the day. This too comes from being in the medical field, and this has got to change asap!
I always say that I am going to relax, and take more short breaks, but I really don’t..
(You can be a workaholic at home too!)
This year, I am giving myself permission to have more lazy days-to get out of my head for just a little bit. Not only while traveling, or on short trips, but while at home as well.
What do you like to do on your lazy days?
So far on my lazy off days or nights, I have binged watched on Hulu-Siren, The Handmaid’s Tale, Harlots, and just recently, Salem!
I also take this time to read and research history.
Rejuvenation
I used to think that taking frequent breaks will make you more tired, and sluggish, but I am finding out that when I take a few lazy days off every month, it catapults me into some type of huge necessary action.
I am refreshed, rejuvenated, revived, and ready to go!
Usually after my lazy days, I am too rambunctious for my friends and family! If they can't hang, I always redirect my big bursts of energy into dancing.
Are you gonna give yourself more lazy days off this year?
