The Ultimate 3 Day Weekend Guide To Seabrook, Texas
With a population of 14,000 people, the close proximity of Seabrook’s neighboring waterfront districts, makes visiting this vibrant community even more exciting, as you will be spending your 3 day weekend in 4 small cities by the sea, instead of one!
Yes, as a new visitor, you will find yourself navigating between Galveston, League City, Clear Lake City, and Kemah unknowingly, as they all unselfishly share their borders. About Seabrook
Just 35 minutes away from Houston, Seabrook lies quietly on the Southeast Texas coast right alongside Galveston Bay. Though it seems like it is in a totally different zone of its own, Seabrook is still considered to be Harris County-which is the largest county in Houston.
Seabrook, Texas was purchased in 1895 by the son of a Galveston slave trader named Seabrook W. Sydnor-History tells us that he purchased the land from his Father.
(By the way, according to US history, the state of Texas was the last state to free African slaves, thus Juneteenth)
The city of Seabrook is known for its antique shops, bed and breakfasts, fishermen, shrimpers, walking trails, water attractions, and various wildlife including home to 300 species of birds.
If you love yachts and boats, fishing, parks, biking, beaches, and lakes, then you will love Seabrook, Texas!
